When the weather warms up, the classics come out. If you’re a collector car enthusiast, chances are you’ll be checking out one of the community parades or shows in your area and you may even be participating. - Run through a pre-show vehicle detailing routine: This one may seem obvious but remember—if your hood is going to be up you need to make sure your engine is show ready as well. That should be step one in the cleaning process. Otherwise, you may find yourself going back over wheel wells and exterior that are soiled after you clean the engine.
- Arrive or sign up early: If you don’t have a designated spot, you will have to make sure you’re there as early as possible. Shows may have a cap on the number of vehicles to be allowed admission or sign-up spots available. You’re also there for a very specific reason: to proudly display your vehicle! Make sure you don’t just have any spot, but the best spot to show-off your collector car (unless you prefer a low-traffic area with less hands-on observers!).
- Bring supplies: Make sure you have extra towels, wipes and other cleaning supplies. You may want to bring ropes or barricades depending on how close you expect spectators to get. Be prepared to protect yourself as well. Check the weather and see if you need to bring a sweater, sunscreen, umbrella or even canopy. A cooler with refreshments is a great idea as well.
