During the past year, the GTA and surrounding area has experienced a higher-than-usual number of catalytic converter thefts. You could be more susceptible to these thefts if your vehicles are left in the open for long periods of time without surveillance or locked gates/garages. Periodically moving the vehicles around and parking them in different spots may help prevent these types of incidents.
While the majority of these incidents involve commercial-use pickup trucks, SUVs, and cargo vans, private vehicles are also being targeted for theft of exhaust parts and airbags. Lexus and Toyota vehicles appear to be an especially popular target.
While your vehicle(s) are not in use, please take care to secure them as best as possible, or store them in a secure facility until you’re ready to resume operation.
